Events and Activities

Events provide funding for the Society's mission as well as the Roswell Historical Society/City of Roswell Research Library & Archives and the Hembree Farm Historic Site Preservation Project.

 Educational events and historical exhibits are offered periodically as part of the Society's mission to preserve and share the history and heritage of Roswell.

Periodic programs are offered to acquaint the public with our Research Library and Archives and how to properly preserve and store your family photographs and other treasures.


Our annual "Dinner Y'all" schedule features a variety of themed parties, dining, and wine tasting.  A series of exciting social events help fund the Society's Research Library & Archives.


"Beyond My Stone"-- Interpreters in period dress portray early Roswell residents interred in Roswell's historic cemeteries. Walk among the graves with our actors as they add true stories to the inscriptions on the stones.


We offer special programs, such as lecture series on historical topics or presentations by distinguished speakers. A recent lecture series was presented by our Archivist on the subject of American home interiors, architecture, and decorative arts from 1700 - 1900.


We mount periodic exhibits with historical themes. Exhibits feature materials held in our Archives, including photographs, artifacts, textiles, vintage clothing, and documents or objects relating to Roswell history.


Walk with History interpreters in period dress relate the facts of Roswell's past on an annual stroll through the historic district.
